Why is is so easy to enter, but so more difficult to get out?
It is by the means of dependency that the users are tied to the power of platforms like Facebook, the very power described by Shoshana Zuboff in The Age of Surveillance Capitalism (2019).
Such ecosystems (which are, must we be reminded, first and foremost commercial beast) are designed much like slot machines, poised to capture and maintain the users’ attention for as long as possible.
To quit Facebook means resisting its silo logic—the one preventing us from exercising our own free will while massively profiting a corporation of billions of users.
